A quick first take jam on Dilla’s beat off of SV’s Fantastic (definately one of my 5 all time fav hip hop records) I put the Singers Unlimited’s Claire sample at the beginning (check anthos818′s great recreation) looped 2 bars without bass off of Players and just came up with these lil riffs to pay a tribute to Dilla’s musical genius… RIP Dilla and Baatin 50/105 flatwounds(from 2003!) neck pick up and C#/F#/B/E tuning

She did a fantastic job. This piece she introduced to us only weeks ago was one of the most beautiful a cappella arrangements I had heard so I decided to record it. The harmonies were so dissonant it was very difficult to record each part.. especially since I only knew the tenor line; I had to sight read the other ones. Still, this recording is far from perfect, there are still tuning and timing issues but I did my best.
