 In 1869, the Cincinnati Red Stockings formed as the first professional baseball team. In their first regular season match, the Red Stockings defeated the Cincinnati Great Westerns 45-9. The Red Stockings completed the 1869 season with a National Association record of 57-0. One hundred years later, baseball commemorated its first professional team by having all current teams wear an anniversary patch on their jerseys. The Miracle Mets, who expanded into the league in 1962, defeated the heavily favored Baltimore Orioles in the 1969 World Series. In the first year that the leagues were divided into divisions, the Reds finished four games out of first in the West. Founded in 1869, the sleeve patch salutes the 100th Anniversary of both the Red-stockings and baseball Jersey Number This authentic jersey will have the number 5 on it. An example of why a fast reaction helps hook more fish. You’ll see the initial ‘take’ (while I’m not looking), followed by a very short run, followed by multipe short head shakes as the fish realises foul play and an obstruction (hooks) in its mouth,,,,then the fish bolts fast towards the boat so I have to accelerate a very long way until I come in contact with the fish again.
